How it works

Favicon Generator: a practical guide

A favicon package helps a website show a recognizable icon in browser tabs and when saved to a device home screen. This generator accepts one PNG, JPEG, or WebP image and creates common 16, 32, 48, 180, 192, and 512 pixel PNG assets, a multi-size ICO, a web manifest, and an HTML snippet.

    Choose a source image under 5 MB and no larger than 4096 pixels on either side.

  2. STEP 02

    Download the generated ZIP package.

  3. STEP 03

    Inspect the small icons, then place the assets and manifest at the paths referenced by the snippet.

What this tool does and its limits

The source is centered on square transparent canvases while preserving its proportions; this avoids stretching but may leave empty margins. The tool cannot know your site's theme color, final asset paths, manifest name, or preferred crop. Update those values for your own site and inspect the 16-pixel preview size before publishing.

Will the source image be stretched?
No. It is scaled proportionally and centered on a square transparent canvas.
What is included in the ZIP?
