Common questions
Which image formats are supported?
Static JPG/JPEG, PNG, and WebP images are supported. Animated PNG and WebP files are rejected so frames are never silently altered or discarded.
Does the tool identify every possible EXIF tag?
No. It displays a useful recognized subset and reports other metadata containers when possible. Removal targets the supported privacy metadata blocks rather than claiming to decode every vendor-specific tag.
Why is orientation preserved?
Some photos store their intended display direction as metadata instead of rotating the pixels. Removing that value without changing pixels could make the image appear sideways. WebP orientation support can vary between viewers, but the value is still retained safely.
Are my image or GPS coordinates uploaded?
No. Inspection and removal run locally in your browser. Got A Tool does not receive the selected file, its metadata, or its location details.
