How it works

Make a bank CSV consistent without guessing its meaning

01

Choose the delimiter

Tell the tool whether the export uses commas, semicolons, or tabs before opening it.

02

Map the source fields

Choose date, description, and amount columns, plus the exact date and decimal formats used by your bank.

03

Review before export

Download only the valid standardized rows. Any unclear row is placed in review.csv instead.

Output format

Three predictable columns for transaction review.

The ready file uses Date, Description, and Amount. Dates are written as YYYY-MM-DD. Signed amounts stay signed; separate debit and credit columns become negative and positive amounts respectively.

Why formats are explicit

A value such as 03/04/2026 can mean two different dates, and 1.234 can be a grouped number or a decimal. Choose the source formats yourself so the tool never makes that decision silently.

Questions

Bank CSV standardizer questions

Does this connect to my bank?

No. It only reads the CSV file you choose. It cannot sign in, download transactions, check balances, or change anything in an account.

Why is a row in review.csv?

Its date, amount, debit, or credit value did not match the formats you selected, or both debit and credit had a value. It stays out of the ready file so you can decide how to repair it.

Can I use a signed amount or separate debit and credit columns?

Yes. Choose one signed column when the bank already uses positive and negative values. Choose separate columns when an expense and an income are in different fields.

Does it categorize transactions or calculate balances?

No. This version standardizes the fields you map. It does not guess categories, merchant names, currencies, exchange rates, or account balances.

Is my financial CSV uploaded?

No. Reading, mapping, review, ZIP creation, and download happen in your browser. Got A Tool does not receive or store the statement.
