How it works

Turn an OFX statement into reviewable CSV rows

01

Choose one statement

Load an OFX, QFX, or QBO export from your device. It is read in this browser only.

02

Review every record

Read bank and credit-card transaction entries from both older OFX SGML and XML OFX 2.x files.

03

Download separate outputs

Keep ready transactions separate from records with unreadable dates, amounts, or transaction types.

What is included

Keep practical fields for spreadsheet review.

The transactions CSV includes the posting date, amount, transaction type, financial transaction ID, name, memo, check number, and the account identifier included in the statement. Bank routing identifiers and statement balances are not added to the CSV.

What needs review

A transaction without a readable posting date, amount, or transaction type stays out of the ready CSV. Its source lines and raw transaction block are written to review.csv instead of being partly converted.

Questions

OFX conversion questions

Which statement types are supported?

This version reads bank and credit-card transaction records. It does not convert investment transactions, bill-pay instructions, attached documents, or reconciliation data.

What dates and amounts can it read?

Posting dates use the first YYYYMMDD portion of an OFX date, including dates followed by a time or timezone offset. Amounts may use an OFX period decimal, grouped thousands such as 1,234.56, or an unambiguous comma decimal such as 12,50.

Does it connect to my bank?

No. It only reads the statement file you select. It cannot sign in to a bank, download transactions, or verify balances.

Why is a transaction in review.csv?

The record did not have a readable posting date, amount, or transaction type. Review the raw block and source lines before repairing or importing it elsewhere.

Is my financial statement uploaded?

No. Reading, review, CSV creation, and ZIP creation happen locally in your browser. Got A Tool does not receive or store the statement.
