When a picture works better than a PDF
Share a document page in a message, add a diagram to a presentation, or prepare a page for a form that accepts images. Each image captures the whole page, including its text and graphics.
Choose the detail you need
Start with 144 DPI for a balance of detail and file size. Use 72 DPI for a lighter image, or 216 DPI for more detail from a clear original. DPI controls the pixel dimensions of the export; print software may use its own print-size settings.

PDF to image questions
How do I convert a PDF to JPG or PNG?
Choose a PDF, enter the pages you need, select JPG or PNG, and choose a resolution. Convert the pages, then download an individual image or a ZIP containing all the results.
Should I choose JPG or PNG?
JPG usually creates smaller files and works well for photographs and everyday sharing. PNG uses lossless compression and can preserve crisp text, diagrams, and screenshots, although files may be larger. Both formats use a white page background here.
Is my PDF uploaded or stored?
No. PDF reading, page rendering, and ZIP creation happen locally in your browser. Got A Tool does not receive or store the contents of your PDF. Downloads are saved wherever your browser normally saves files.
Can I convert only certain pages?
Yes. Enter a single page, a range, or a combination such as 1, 3-5. Pages are exported in document order, and repeated page numbers are included once. You can convert up to 50 pages per batch.
What are the file and resolution limits?
Open one PDF of up to 25 MB and 500 pages. Convert up to 50 pages at a time, with an 80 MB combined output limit. Resolution options are 72, 144, and 216 DPI. Very large pages are scaled down to fit 12 megapixels and 4,096 pixels per side; the actual dimensions appear with each image. Your device may require smaller batches.
Does this extract embedded photos or make text editable?
No. This tool renders each selected PDF page as one complete image. It does not extract individual photos, perform OCR, or turn the document into editable text. Increasing resolution cannot recover detail missing from a low-quality scan.
Can I convert a password-protected PDF?
Use an unlocked copy of the PDF. This tool does not remove passwords. Damaged PDFs or unusual PDF features may also prevent conversion; check the preview and downloaded images before using the results.
