How it works

Review an RSS feed without giving a website its URL

01

Choose an RSS file

Export or save the RSS 2.0 XML file, then select it from your device.

02

Check episode metadata

The tool reports missing titles, dates, enclosures, and unsupported duration forms.

03

Download the episode list

Export titled episodes as a spreadsheet-ready CSV with their published date and enclosure URL.

Scope

For local RSS 2.0 review, not feed hosting or publishing.

This version reads one local RSS 2.0 XML file. It does not fetch a URL, test a podcast directory, download media, alter the feed, or support Atom feeds. XML files containing DOCTYPE or ENTITY declarations are rejected before parsing.

Why the warnings stay visible

A titled episode can still be useful in an inventory even when its publication date or enclosure is missing. The CSV keeps the readable episode while the page shows what needs attention.

Questions

Podcast RSS Inspector questions

Does this fetch my podcast URL?
No. Choose an RSS XML file yourself. The tool makes no network request for the feed or its media files.
Which duration formats are checked?
When present, an iTunes duration must be SS, MM:SS, or HH:MM:SS. Unsupported forms are shown as warnings and preserved as supplied in the CSV.
Why is an episode missing from the CSV?
Only an RSS item with no title is omitted. Every other titled item is included so that you can review missing optional metadata in context.
Can I adjust timestamps in subtitle files?
Use Subtitle Timestamp Shifter for SRT or WebVTT cue timing.
