How it works

Change a Secret value without sending it to a converter

01

Choose one Secret

The file must declare kind: Secret and contain one supported data block.

02

Review decoded text

Only valid UTF-8 Base64 values are shown as editable text; unreadable values stay untouched.

03

Download changed YAML

Only edited values are encoded again. Unedited supported lines and other YAML remain as supplied.

Scope

Designed for readable values, not every Secret representation.

This version supports one Kubernetes Secret document with one-line Base64 values in its data: block. Binary data, multiline YAML scalars, multiple documents, and unsupported layouts are reported and left unchanged.

A Secret is still sensitive after Base64 decoding

Base64 is an encoding, not encryption. Store production values in a secret manager and review every edited YAML file before applying it to a cluster.

Questions

Kubernetes Secret YAML Editor questions

Is my Secret uploaded?
No. File reading, Base64 decoding, editing, re-encoding, and downloading happen in your browser.
Why is one value left unchanged?
It may be binary, malformed Base64, a multiline YAML scalar, or part of a layout this version does not support. The tool reports the line and does not guess how to rewrite it.
Does this apply the Secret to Kubernetes?
No. It only creates an edited YAML download. You remain responsible for reviewing and applying the file with your own deployment process.
Can I create a Compose environment block instead?
Use .env to Docker Compose Mapper when you need a selected-name-only Compose block.
