How it works

Protect identifiers before opening a CSV in Excel

Spreadsheet software can change leading zeros, long identifiers, and formula-like values. Choose the columns that need protection before you download a new CSV.

  1. Step 01

    Choose a CSV

Open a supported CSV file from your device.

  2. Step 02

    Select identifier columns

Mark barcode, SKU, phone, or postal-code columns that should remain text.

  3. Step 03

    Review and download

Check any UPC-A or EAN-13 findings, then download the protected CSV.

What this tool does and its limits

  • The tool protects selected columns. It does not reconstruct digits that a previous spreadsheet save has already lost.
  • Formula protection is limited to values in the output CSV; review imported data in the spreadsheet application you use.

Practical guide

Read the Product identifier checklist

Protect identifier columns as text, review values that may have been changed by a spreadsheet, and validate before you generate labels.
