OpenAPI Spec Pruner
Remove selected OpenAPI paths, preserve shared schemas, and download a JSON spec with checked schema references.
Data handling
Storage and export controls
- Retention
- The tool's working state is kept only while this page is open. Inputs and results are not saved to persistent storage by Got A Tool.
- Export
- The tool may prepare a result after you run it. It downloads or copies it only when you choose that action.
Advertising and analytics are separate site services. We do not send selected tool input to them. Read the Privacy Policy for details.
How it works
Prune an API specification with a review step
Keep a smaller OpenAPI copy for the audience or workflow you have in mind without asking the tool to guess which endpoints matter.
Step 01
Choose a valid specification
Open a readable JSON OpenAPI specification in the tool.
Step 02
Select paths deliberately
Review the available paths and mark only the operations you want to remove.
Step 03
Download and check the copy
The tool checks remaining references, then gives you a separate JSON copy to review.
What this tool does and its limits
- This tool removes selected paths. It does not decide whether a server, security scheme, or schema is appropriate to share.
- Review the downloaded specification with the API client or documentation workflow that will use it.
Practical guide
Read the Configuration-sharing checklist
Make a safe copy with selected names and placeholders, then review it before a config file leaves your device.
