How it works

Turn a readable HTML fragment into reviewable Markdown

01

Paste the source

Use an HTML fragment from a CMS, documentation export, or editor. It stays in this browser tab.

02

Convert locally

The tool turns common headings, text formatting, links, images, lists, and code blocks into Markdown.

03

Review the result

Read the output and any notices before you copy or download the Markdown.

Deliberate limits

Markdown cannot express every webpage feature.

Scripts, styles, templates, and noscript blocks are removed. Tables, media, forms, and interactive elements need a manual check because Markdown has no complete equivalent. The tool never follows source links or loads images.

Keeps common structure

Headings, paragraphs, bold and italic text, links, images, lists, quotes, and code blocks are converted.

Does not render source

HTML is treated as text. It is not inserted into a preview and no embedded script is run.

No automatic fetches

Image and link addresses can be written into output, but the tool does not open or request them.

Review is part of conversion

Notices flag removed blocks and structures that Markdown may not represent fully.

FAQ

Common questions

Does it turn Markdown back into HTML?

No. This page is deliberately one-way: HTML source to Markdown. It keeps the conversion scope reviewable.

Will a table look exactly the same in Markdown?

Not necessarily. The tool flags tables for review because column spans, styling, and layout often have no reliable Markdown equivalent.

Are pasted pages or links uploaded?

No. Conversion happens locally. The tool does not fetch linked pages, images, scripts, or stylesheets.
